Meet "Nautilus".
This painting is inspired by Grandfather Luis Garibaldi, Zoologist and animal extraordinaire.
His life was filled with adventure and a passion for animals, he was a very free spirit with a heart bigger than his body. He passed a few years back and every time I see a nautilus I always think of him. His welcoming home, the magnificent stories he had from his life and his endless sense of wonder.
When I started this painting it was all with the intention of learning and growing, little did I know I would find so much passion and joy from creating this piece. I didn't realize until after I completed it that this piece was truly, deeply and lovingly created in the spirit of my beloved grandfather. It's as if he was with me from start to finish while bringing this painting to life. Like his spirit breathed life into every brush stroke.
